As I contemplated how choral music can achieve "High Touch," I came up with these ideas:
1. We need to place our art in the context of humanity
2. We need to set the emotional stage for our music when we perform using words, program notes, or technology.
3. We need to work harder at finding and eliciting joy from ourselves and our singers
4. We need to tell the story of the song; to connect better with our audiences and bring together disparate ideas.
I need to credit Jamie Baker of Reverb Consulting for her fantastic work in leading the ACDA discussion. Thanks, Jamie!
