What many in the states don't know is that the first day of Christmas is actually Christmas Day. Christmas then continues through the 5th of January (Twelfth Night), leading up the visit of the 3 Kings (according to tradition) on Epiphany (Jan 6). I suspect most of us don't know this because of our Puritan heritage (they were anti-Christmas and tried to abolish the traditions built up around it across the sea). Anyway, this is a fun version of the 12 days, though I'm not sure how 'Africa' got chosen as the alternate tune at the end. ~ Ryan, Choral Music Resource
Now that you say it, I remember that fact about the 12 days of Christmas. O well. It's a great arrangement.
