I watched the Mormon Tabernacle Christmas special and was impressed again with the music of Mack Wilberg, who conducted several of his works on the program. I came across
this article yesterday that profiles the composer, a portion of it here:
When it comes to arranging choral music, Wilberg is internationally recognized. At a recent news conference, his colleague explained Wilberg's importance in the music world. "Mack Wilberg, from Castledale, Utah, is the number-one seller of choral music for Oxford University Press … and his recognition throughout the world as a choral composer, we are extremely blessed to have him in our community here," Tabernacle Choir Music Director Craig Jessop said.

Wilberg says there is nothing mysterious about his inspiration. It simply comes from hard work. "Sometimes the occasion will inspire, sometimes those for whom you are writing will inspire; so there's just all sorts of circumstances that turn on the creative juices," he said.
