This Is Your Brain on Music by Daniel Levitin just came out in paperback last month and publishers treat this event as if a 'new' book is being published, with author tours and such. Last August 29, Levitin appeared at Poetry and Prose Bookstore (the pre-eminent Washington DC meeting-of-the-brain-nerds bookstore and coffeehouse) not only to tout the book but to bring along some musicians to provide some live audio examples referenced in the book.

A 90-second podcast describing Levitin's work featured on the NPR radio program Earth and Sky can be found here. It could be useful to pass on to administrators who wouldn't sit still for a longer blurb in support of music in the curriculum.
